Ha ha, Fran, your usual humour shines through. With my book launch for Waireka: Sweet Waters, I remember that the books only arrived from the publisher the day before I think. I was sweating right up to the last minute that there would be a bookshop event with no books!!
Each paragraph was a joy. Thank you for including the picture of us with three quarters wearing green and the authorly quarter resplendent in blue. And there is nothing wrong with that. I like blue. It's one of the good colours at present. Also variations thereto such as indigo, turquoise and navy. The beady eyed hogs were a delight and I am beside myself at the thought of more Warwickshire based japes.

This is the risk! But Waterstones assured me that all should be fine ....
Hoping and praying so for you.
My writer chum Sarah Nicholson (@reravelling) managed to pull off a book launch with no books this time last year. It can be done!
I bet that interested her guests and wouldn't exactly boost her sales either!
She did so well. They didn't arrive in time, so she did pre orders and read from her one author proof copy. Everyone loved it
That's really good.
Hotting up. You are channeling Granny there. She always used to say: Do you want your tea hotting up? I still say it!
I wonder if it's a Midlands thing!
We'll have to plan something as good as the beady-eyed hogs now. Mmmm! (Gets thinking cap on.)
I'm thinking devilled eggs and Cherry Bakewells. Or we could do something with Spam and empty the venue within minutes.
This post really made me laugh! Brilliant.
Thanks so much!
